Transforming a Plain Classic Skirt into a Trendy Fashion Statement

I’m a bit of a minimalist, but I like to add a twist. I enjoy seeing a quirky design element or something different. That’s why I prefer basic tops with a funky design touch.

A couple of days ago, I showed you how to pick fabulous tops that can serve as basics. Today, I want to flip that idea and show you how to turn a basic classic skirt into something more funky and fashionable.

The model for this example is the pink silk skirt I talked about yesterday. I have several skirts with these unique design elements.

One of my skirts, a black one, has push buttons on the sides that let you easily lift it. My navy blue skirt features interesting draping at the front.

You can create some of these design elements with a wide skirt. Check out this simple silk skirt and what you can do to make it a fashionable item.

1. Knot
The easiest way to add some flair to the skirt is by tying one knot on one side.

2. Two Knots
Try tying a knot on each side of the skirt for a different look.

Connecting the Ends at the Back
By tying both ends of the skirt around your waist in the back, you can transform it into an elegant pencil skirt!

Connecting the Ends at the Front
This method also creates a nice effect, turning your classic skirt into a hot fashion item!

So, what do you think? Would you try this? Which combination do you like the best?
