This week, we’re diving into the casual outfit formula: jeans paired with a jacket. It’s a favorite for many because it’s a simple way to make a casual look more stylish. Personally, I used to wear this combo a lot when I lived in cooler climates like The Netherlands and Australia. Now, living in a hot climate, I don’t wear it as often.
For today’s look, I reviewed a pair of Bootcut Dark Denim blue jeans from Isabi. I got them in size 12 (UK sizing) and they’re very comfy with a higher rise, so no tummy rolls stick out. They’re not mom jeans and they look great with a tucked-in top. These jeans are fantastic for my body type as they make my shorter legs look longer. They’re stretchy too, so I could probably fit into a size 10 for a snugger fit. If you’re between sizes, go for the smaller one. At 5’7”, these jeans are the perfect length for me, even with flats.
First, I paired them with my favorite D&G casual short jacket, perfect for an on-the-go look. Then, I tried a cream white blazer from Zara, which made the outfit dressier. I completed this look with printed ballerinas and did some pattern mixing with my top, belt, and shoes. This outfit is still casual but suitable for many occasions, like casual Fridays at the office.
