I always enjoy when my friend Anja visits, as she loves taking photos and always gets great shots of me. I’m really happy with how these turned out. Anja also reads my blog, and it was funny that she showed up for lunch dressed in the black and white trend that I wrote about. I’ll share some photos of her later this week.
I felt inspired to mix black, white, and colors based on my own tips, aiming to combine all four suggested elements in my outfit. But since I’m in a colorful mood, I couldn’t stick to just one or two colors. Instead, I opted for a large patterned black and white bag and mixed in various patterns, two highlight colors, a hat, and red lipstick.
In my outfit, you can see the mixed pattern of my bag, the stripes on my hairband, my silver and white watch, the red and black of my hat, and the polka dots on my belt. Despite adding more than just black and white, with two extra colors, the outfit still looks coordinated and has a graphical feel. I wanted to add a feminine touch but couldn’t find the right dress for the occasion. So, I wore a bold red lipstick, inspired by Isabella Blow, to give the look a bit of a lady-like vibe.
Here’s what I wore:
– Top: MPhosis
– Trousers: Mango
– Necklace: Alldressedup
– Shoes: Ecco
– Sunglasses: Furla
– Watch: Bruno Nimaber
Thanks to Anja for the lovely photos! She’s heading back to Holland, so no more lunches for a while, but you can still follow her work at Totally Wowed and Double Dutch in Singapore.
What about you? Have you been experimenting with patterns, colors, black and white, hats, and jewelry this weekend?
