This summer, I’ve really embraced neutral colors. While black and white are timeless favorites, blue and white also remain classically stylish.
I recently added some fabulous blues to my wardrobe, and my preferred way to wear blue is paired with white. This combination offers an effortlessly chic look that’s perfect for when you’re unsure what to wear. Blue is softer than black and generally suits women over 40 better.
1. White Top, Blue Pants
My first outfit is trendy with a hint of the ’70s. Although I’m not entirely into the boho chic trend, I keep it simple and minimalistic with blue flared pants I’ve had for years. They serve as a perfect base for a multi-layered white top from Stella Carakasi, made of 100% hemp—a fabric similar to linen that keeps you cool with a lovely texture.
2. White Capris, Blue Knitted Top
You can also switch it up by wearing navy on top. The pattern of this top looks different depending on whether it’s against your skin or over a camisole, adding great texture to the outfit. No necklace is needed, so you can play up your look with earrings, sunglasses, or bracelets. Made of 100% linen, this top is ideal for summer, offering coolness without the wrinkles. It pairs well with jeans too.
3. Blue Top, White Leggings
The last look features another great design from Stella Carakasi. This top drapes like a cocoon across your body and is made of 100% hemp. It’s super light and cool, although it wrinkles easily. If you mind wrinkles, pure hemp might not be for you.
