How do you manage your bags?
I’ve gone from being a super practical Dutch girl with one stylish, comfy backpack that matched everything to owning a large assortment of bags that I mix and match with my outfits. Nowadays, most of my outfits don’t feel complete without the perfect bag. The old backpack is long gone, and instead, I’ve embraced bags in all kinds of colors and designs.
I posted the same question on my Facebook page and found that people are pretty split on this topic. Here are some responses:
The Non-Changers:
– Nanda: “I have quite a few bags and I’d like to change them with every outfit, but I don’t have time, so I just switch bags every once in a while.”
– Laura: “Nope – same old bag all the time. I just make sure it’s neutral and has all the bells and whistles to make my life easier!”
– Radin: “No change. Avoids the hassle so I don’t forget important things.”
– Lorraine Rose: “Mostly the same bag, who can afford to keep changing?”
– Rita: “I change my bags every month or so, unless I’m doing something messy. My bags are all neutral shades that work with everything. I switch them up to use them all and not wear out one.”
– Emily: “I change periodically. I dress in the same color family for a while and then switch, doing the same with bags. My daughter introduced me to the joy of a large bag.”
– Luciana: “I use a bag for a few weeks, sometimes longer, then switch. Changing bags daily means I’ll forget something. Currently, I’m using a lime yellow one that I love.”
– Cynthia: “Once I find a purse I like, I keep it until it falls apart. I’m picky about a bag’s features.”
– Silvia: “Only change it when dressing up. Hate changing and forgetting things.”
The Changers:
– Aileen: “Change with every outfit, but keep all essentials in a little bag that’s easy to move.”
– Noeline: “I coordinate with my outfit using small cosmetic bags for essentials so it’s quick to swap.”
– Lonie: “Change my bag with every outfit. If it’s a quick trip, any handy bag works.”
– Tracey: “Change with each outfit.”
– Zaidah: “Change every time to match my outfit.”
– Cara: “Change it up!”
– Trina: “Change with outfits.”
– Vita: “Change it.”
I’ve joined the changers camp because I see a bag as a great way to add extra interest to an outfit. As Aileen suggested, a good way to manage changing bags is to use a bag organizer that can be easily moved from one bag to another.
So, what do you do? Do you stick with the same bag all the time or switch it up with every outfit?
