Exploring Haji Lane Singapore with a Californian Reader

Here are my first outfit pictures post-haircut. You’ll notice that the haircut isn’t too drastic; I opted for shoulder-length hair. This still lets me tie it up in a ponytail, while the shorter length makes it easier to style when I leave it down. I also went a bit blonder. My inspiration was a picture of Heidi Klum. Thanks to everyone who gave me advice for my new look!

Meeting a Reader

Blogging has opened up new opportunities and friendships for me. I’m connecting with some of you daily and meeting new women all the time. Occasionally, someone lets me know they’re visiting Singapore. That’s how I got to meet Elisabeth, who came all the way from California for a conference.

What I Wore

For the meeting, I chose my light brown JNBY dress. Since I find it a bit short, I layered it over a versatile cream dress. I’ve styled these dresses together in the past as well. Deciding to wear a necklace was tricky because of the dress’s asymmetrical top. But in the end, I went with it for a pop of red, especially when not carrying a handbag. What do you think?

Haji Lane

I thought Elisabeth would enjoy Haji Lane, a fun street in Singapore full of independent shops. We started with lunch at Pieda Negra, a nice Mexican restaurant. We had great conversations and then explored Haji Lane.

Shopping with Elisabeth

Elisabeth tried several dresses and tops but didn’t find anything she liked that fit. We were both eyeing a chic dress, but it wasn’t available in her size. We grabbed coffee and managed to take a picture together before it started to rain. Since Elisabeth didn’t find anything, we headed to one of Singapore’s main shopping malls, which provided shelter from the rain.

I’m happy to report that Elisabeth found a fantastic outfit at Zara. No pictures this time, but hopefully, she can share some later. Our last stop was Ecco, where I bought new shoes featured in this week’s article on mid-heel shoes. Elisabeth also got herself a stylish blue pair!

What have you been up to this weekend, and what did you wear?
