Hope you all had a fantastic weekend and looked great! Today, I’m sharing two outfits you’ve seen before, paired in different ways.
This is my go-to mom-on-the-run outfit, though some might think it’s too formal for casual wear. The black and white combo makes it look instantly chic. It’s just a basic cotton blouse and skirt, both from Zara, paired with black and white ballerina flats. Although they add a chic touch, they’re still just flats. The black and green Heleen van der Meer bag adds a nice pop of color, and the black and white Anne Fontaine belt gives the outfit extra polish and flair, serving as the priciest piece in this ensemble.
I believe this is a great example of a simple yet stylish outfit. It literally took me less than five minutes to put together. This formula works well for various occasions, whether it’s going to work, meeting clients, shopping, or picking up my son from school.
The outfit formula is straightforward: a skirt and a nice blouse. If you want, you can add a fancy belt and a stylish bag. For shoes, go with ballerinas. If it’s cooler out, you could add different types of jackets. I’d go for a leather or even a nice jeans jacket, and for formal occasions, a blazer works well. If skirts aren’t your thing, swap them for a good pair of trousers.
You don’t need much to look good if you have some solid basics and a few nice accessories to dress things up. Think of how many outfits you could create with just that skirt and top!
For those who do have good basics, stop making excuses and make sure you always have something to wear. I could wear this combination multiple times with slight variations in either the top or bottom. I’d rather see you wearing something similar often, like a stylish uniform with good quality garments, than looking sloppy with a different outfit every day.
Even though today’s pieces are inexpensive, they don’t look it. A good accessory, like this belt, can instantly elevate your outfit and make it look more expensive. Investing in a versatile accessory is always worth it because you’ll use it repeatedly, sometimes for years.
I’ve worn this belt on many occasions, and it was definitely worth the investment! Its quality is so good that I’ll be wearing it for years to come.
While I liked my initial outfit today, I needed more color later on. I rarely go out now without adding some color. The green bag was nice, but I wanted more, so I switched to a red printed skirt. In the end, I liked both outfits.
So, do any of you have a formula or some sort of ‘uniform’ you use to ensure you always have something to wear and look fabulous?
