I’ve been busy launching the new 21 Steps Style Course and settling back in Singapore, so I haven’t had a chance to share some photos Denton took of me in New York. Let’s kick things off today with these cropped flare jeans.
I’ve had my eye on this new style for a while but couldn’t find the perfect pair until I visited my favorite jeans brand, Paige. Once I saw them in the store, I had to give them a try, and they did not disappoint. These jeans fit just as perfectly as my other bootleg jeans from Paige and create a fantastic silhouette.
The material is both stretchy and sturdy, which makes them great at keeping my tummy in check. Because of this, I can confidently wear them with a shorter top, which usually pairs best with cropped flares. My top is from a new brand called Kowtow, and I really love its colorful, natural fabric and easy, breezy fit. These jeans look great with open vamp shoes but also pair nicely with high-heeled open-toe booties from a brand called Lilian, which are perfect for my climate. Some of you have asked where to buy them online, but I haven’t had much luck finding them. Amazon, however, offers several similar options.
As the weather cools, here are some tips for transitioning this outfit to fall:
– Add a short jacket that’s roughly the same length as your top.
– Swap the booties for longer boots that go under the pants.
– For slightly cooler weather, try a sleeveless vest.
– Wear the jeans with a short dress or tunic, but make sure to belt it to maintain the desired silhouette.
– Don’t forget accessories! They’re crucial for any outfit.
