Ari Seth Cohen’s incredible book is finally out, celebrating the unique style of women aged 60 and beyond, even up to 100 years old. I just managed to grab what might be the last available copy in Amsterdam. I initially wanted to get three copies – one for my mother, my mother-in-law, and myself – but it’s a good sign that the book is in such high demand.
Ari Seth Cohen started the Advanced Style site a few years ago, inspired by his fashionable grandmother. He wandered around New York, looking for stylish women over 50. In his search, he found amazing and inspiring women like 100-year-old Rose, the vibrant duo Carol Markel and Richard Cramer, West Village author Alice Carey, Debra Rapoport, artist Ilona Royce Smithkin, artist and writer Beatrix Ost, 80-year-old Joyce, glamorous Lynn Dell, and many others.
Each of these ladies gets a short introduction in the book, sharing their style insights. The book is filled with photos of many other women, too. My favorite is Judith Boyd, aka The Style Crone, who looks stunning in her long, colorful coat.
The book is just fantastic. The photos are breathtaking, and the people featured are uniquely stylish in their own ways. There’s minimal text because the photos speak for themselves. This book offers endless style inspiration and new outfit ideas. Moreover, it encourages you to embrace aging with confidence and excitement. Advanced Style shows that old age can be just as stylish, colorful, and joyful as ever!
Advanced Style is available on Amazon. Enjoy!
