Styling Flats for a Trendy Look You’ll Love!

I often feature outfits with heels on this site. Many fashion bloggers I highlight love wearing heels, and you’ll see a lot of women at fashion week rocking them for a stylish statement. Personally, I’ve started wearing heels more as I’ve gotten older because they add a special touch to my outfits. Since I spend most of my time working from home barefoot, I don’t have to wear them for long periods.

Some of you have been asking if you can look stylish in flats, and the answer is a big YES! I wear flats regularly too. My top choice of flats this year has been these flat white slingbacks. I’ve worn them in various outfits you might have seen. They’re super comfy, modern, and chic, thanks to their pointy toe. Since I wear a lot of white, they go well with many of my pants and skirts. Even though my feet are wide, I sized up and they fit perfectly and comfortably.

Here are some more outfits where I wore flats:
– Laced flat sandals with a skirt
– Colorful Tom’s sandals with a pencil skirt and white pants
– White and silver sandals with a ruched skirt and white capris
– Black sandals with a silk tunic over pants
– Flat silver booties with all my winter capsule wardrobe outfits, including cream and black skinnies

A Few Tips for Wearing Flats Stylishly:
– Pay attention to your silhouette and the golden ratio. You might need to adjust the height of your tops for the ideal 1/3 – 2/3 ratio or opt for a tunic top. I cover more on this in my style course.
– Consider adding some funky jewelry for extra flair.
– Look for trendy yet comfortable flats. Pointy toes are very in right now.
– If your shoes are more practical, balance it out by making the rest of your outfit special. An asymmetrical top, for example, will draw enough attention without needing statement shoes.

What I’m Wearing Today:
– Asymmetrical black top by Stella Carakasi
– Capri pants from In Good Company
– Shoes by Hoegl

Some great online shops for flats include Nordstrom and Zappos. For those needing more supportive shoes, I have a comprehensive list of arch support shoes.
