I mentioned before that I bought a bag from Heleen van der Meer in Holland. Well, today I’m excited to show it to you! I thought you’d be tired of seeing my balcony in photos, so I hunted for a new spot in Singapore to take pictures. It wasn’t easy since I had to be my own photographer and didn’t want an audience. After an appointment in the city, I gave the parking garage roof a shot.
Even there, I had some people around in parked cars, but I didn’t let that stop me. I scouted for the perfect spot and ended up choosing a wall. Quite the creative choice, right?
Photographing on location has its own challenges. There’s always something you forget. Here are some tips for aspiring selfie photographers:
1. Avoid Wind and Tame Those Bra Straps
It’s frustrating when freshly styled hair gets messed up by the wind. Also, remember to check your bra straps because there’s no one else to remind you.
2. Make Sure Your Bag Looks Its Best
In some photos, the bag handle was hanging down. It’s so easy to fix it but often overlooked.
3. Take Care of Your Feet
If you’re taking close-ups of your shoes, make sure your feet look good. My new shoes from Ester van Eeghen look great, but my feet could use some care.
4. Bring All Your Props
If you’re showing off a versatile bag with many color combinations, bring all the options. I forgot the green version and my green shoes, so had to photograph those at home.
A Few More Tips:
– Stand straight and maintain good posture.
– Wear a bit more makeup.
– Make sure no hanger straps are sticking out of your clothes.
– Check your photos for sharpness before wrapping up.
About the Bag:
I love versatile bags and this one is amazing. It’s plain black but has extra pockets you can attach with handy push buttons, allowing you to mix and match colors. I bought three extra pockets, giving me lots of combinations.
About the Outfit:
I’m wearing a comfy cotton skirt from Cora Kemperman with an asymmetrical design and drapes, which keep it interesting. The silk top from Zara is soft and flows nicely with the skirt. It’s tucked in here but looks great worn out as well. My new patent leather mid-heel shoes are also a favorite.
The Location:
Check out the background! You can see the iconic Marina Bay Sands Hotel & Resort peeking through. It’s amazing how you can capture it from a parking garage roof.
