I recently returned to Singapore and while I’m fighting off jetlag, I’m filled with great memories of my month-long stay in New York. During my stay, I hosted several guests in my apartment. My first visitor was Lorraine, a regular contributor to this site.
One of the top things on her list was visiting the High Line, an old railway in Chelsea turned into an elevated park. It’s now one of New York’s top tourist spots, and it’s easy to see why. The unique landscaping, plentiful relaxation spaces, and entertainment areas are very appealing. Plus, the views are fantastic – you can see the Hudson River on one side and get a feel of Chelsea’s industrial charm on the other. The area around the High Line is rapidly developing, with new constructions springing up everywhere.
Some parts of the old railway have been preserved, adding to the park’s character. For our walk, I wore a printed silk dress by Moscow, which is versatile enough to wear as a top. It was perfect for the humid August weather in New York when paired with red accessories and shoes. Lorraine looked stylish in a striped dress.
During our visit, I noticed several elegant Asian ladies enjoying the park. Since the High Line was just a short walk from where I was staying, I ended up visiting it multiple times with different guests. I never got tired of it and would love to go back in the future!
Have you ever visited the High Line in New York? What did you think of it?
