I never used to pay attention to the DVF brand from Diane von Furstenberg, as I always thought her designs were too colorful and bohemian for my taste. However, my perspective changed last August during a shopping trip in New York when I came across an amazing blue graphical top on sale. The top caught my eye with its asymmetric hem and luxurious silk fabric. I realized that DVF uses a lot of silk in their clothing, which I absolutely love.
Over time, I’ve become more interested in prints because I tend to wear only one layer, and a beautiful print can really make an outfit stand out. It adds much-needed color to my usually pale complexion.
During my New York trip, I also bought a vibrant dress that I’ve worn countless times. This silk dress is perfect for a summer day and has open slits at the bottom, allowing me to get creative by tying knots and even wearing it as a top. I received many compliments on this look, especially when paired with jeans.
Another favorite purchase was a short dress made from a combination of viscose and silk, which I primarily wear as a tunic top. I’m drawn to its fabulous asymmetrical design.
Recently, I bought a versatile silk top that can be worn in two different ways: with the black side at the front or the blue side at the front. I love versatile pieces because they keep my wardrobe interesting and allow me to be creative with my outfits. Right now, I’m really into kick-flare jeans, and I think silk tops look great paired casually with jeans or dressed up over silk pants.
I also got a DVF shirt dress that I’ve been wearing as a tunic top, but I’ll share photos of that outfit another time.
