Elegant Black Tie and Stylish Fascinators Grace the Bedat Launch Event

I was invited to the launch of Bedat watches at Wisma Atria in Singapore, and the dress code was “Creative black tie.” This wasn’t going to be a grand ballroom event but held in a luxury shopping center. So, I kept it simple and wore a long silk skirt and a silk top to balance elegance and casual style, aligning with the latest blue and black trend. I also wore a fascinator, but more on that later. The pictures would have been nicer if I had used a clutch, but practicality won as I brought my big camera.

My friend Jennie, whom I knew from Shanghai and always played tennis with, accompanied me. She recently moved to Singapore. Like me, she was unsure about the dress code due to the event’s location. Initially considering a long dress, she ultimately chose a sparkly cocktail dress.

Now, back to my fascinator. This was the first time I wore one, so I had no idea how to style it. After trying different positions, I wore it a bit more to the side for the event. Though I’m still uncertain if it was the correct way, I made it work.

The long silk skirt I wore had layers of satin and voile silk, flowing beautifully as I walked. It’s a bit short for high heels, but it was probably the first time I wore pumps in ages! It even allowed for a perfect Angelina Jolie leg pose.

At the event, attendees wore a mix of cocktail dresses and evening gowns, with shorter dresses being more common. The watches on display were impressive, and I loved the ones the models wore. There was a fashion show featuring dresses from Benten Fashion in Indonesia, and plenty of spectacular shoes on display.

The event was a great time with champagne, beautiful dresses and watches, and engaging conversations. It was a perfect occasion to debut my fascinator.
