Last week, I had the chance to attend Fide Fashion Week, and the show by Chinese designer Guo Pei was definitely a standout. It was one of the most spectacular shows I’ve ever seen and it went on for over an hour! Guo Pei isn’t your typical designer. Her creations are bold, glamorous, and incredibly imaginative.
Her fashion shows aren’t really about making wearable clothes; instead, they showcase her skills with fabrics, embellishments, and unique ideas. Fashion shows are always a great source of inspiration for me. Even if you wouldn’t wear the outfits exactly as presented (and let’s be real, some of these would be quite a challenge!), there’s still so much to take away from them. Check out the amazing color mix of taupe, moss green, and gold. That could inspire your own wardrobe choices.
One of the dresses reminded me of Dutch Delft Blue pottery, showing how stunning a dress can be with the right print. The color combinations in another dress were just delightful. And how about pairing grey, silver, and gold together? Guo Pei even gives the classic black and white trend her unique twist. And let’s not forget the beautiful blend of purple, green, and gold, or gold and coral with lots of sparkle.
I’m not suggesting you try to replicate these looks exactly, but there’s plenty here to inspire your outfit planning. Do any of these designs spark ideas for your own wardrobe? Which is your favorite?
