I recently attended the grand opening of In Situ Design, a new showroom and shop in Singapore focused on art and interior design. It was created by creative director Isabelle Persenda and Eric Ledoigt, who originally founded In Situ in Guatemala. In Situ showcases innovative concepts by international designers and artists.
The showroom is filled with handcrafted pieces ranging from furniture and decorations to antiques and art. It has a warm, inviting atmosphere that embodies Isabelle’s distinctive style. The bespoke fittings complement the overall design and highlight the creative collection.
Key items in the collection include sofas, armchairs, coffee tables, consoles, and a selection of antique pieces that create a perfect mix of modern and vintage styles. In Situ also offers handmade bedspreads, bed covers, soft furnishings, tablemats, coasters, wall ornaments, and gold-leaf items, all crafted from 100% cotton and woven on looms. They also offer personalized home interior design consultancy to help clients create the living spaces they envision.
As for the fashion on display, a blogger friend of mine named Paula looked stunning in a little black dress paired with an eye-catching Issey Miyake Bao Bao bag, which is now on my wish list. Her haircut was fantastic too!
There were also two stylish ladies I noticed. One wore striking peplum and killer heels, while the other had a fabulous hair color.
I couldn’t help but admire a beautiful asymmetrical dress from the local label Saturday, paired with trendy shoes. The painting in the background would make a great conversation piece for any living room!
Another art piece that caught my eye looked like a necklace but was actually a wall decoration over one meter wide—quite the deceptive piece.
