I’ve noticed that my clothing choices tend to go through phases. Recently, I’ve transitioned from a black, white, and red phase to outfits featuring navy, red, and white, giving off a marine vibe that I absolutely love. I’ve showcased this marine style before.
All these looks emerged from shopping in my own closet. I rediscovered this blue button-up top that I bought ages ago. It’s perfect for Singapore because it’s airy and light, with longer sleeves that come in handy at the cinema (as mentioned in my article on dressing for Singapore).
I was also looking for something to pair with a new necklace from Alldressedup I recently got on sale. This top matched the necklace perfectly, adding just the right pop of color.
While searching for navy pieces, I found these navy pants that had been sitting in my closet forever. They always seemed a bit dull on their own, but pairing them with a slightly lighter blue striped top made them work. To make the outfit even more interesting, I layered it with a wide cotton blouse.
I could have added a splash of red for some color, but I was in the mood for a more classic and subtle look that day, so I paired it with a mixed stones necklace I bought in Shanghai. If you prefer something even simpler, here’s the outfit without the white top.
I really enjoyed wearing these outfits and was thrilled to rediscover these underused blue pieces. Looking for more styling ideas? Check out our tips on how to wear navy.
