As regular readers know, finding a haircut that I’m happy with, manageable, and stylish is always a challenge for me. My hair is thin, frizzes easily, especially in humid Singapore, and I have no patience for hairstyling – I like to get it done in 5 minutes. So, you can imagine the struggle!
Previously, my longer haircut worked quite well. I could straighten it, give it a keratin treatment occasionally, and throw it into a ponytail when I was short on time or just wanted it out of my face. But, I got bored. Plus, I didn’t feel my hair was nice enough to keep long. So, it’s been getting shorter and now it’s the shortest it’s been in a long time. I decided it was time for a change. I lifted the ponytail requirement and went to the hairdresser with a picture from my own Pinterest board of hairstyles for women over 40. I can’t stand hair covering my eyes, so the fringe is kept shorter, and I’ll probably keep my hair away from my face. So far, I’m happy with it, though only time will tell how manageable it is. The good thing about this hairstyle is that it actually looks quite decent, even when messy. Frizz will be the main issue since it’s harder to iron my hair with this style, but maybe that’s a good thing as using irons isn’t great for my hair anyway! I’ll have to rely more on anti-frizz products, conditioners, and hair masks. I’m also very happy with the coloring, which I wanted to have more texture.
In the pictures at the top, you can see how my hair looked just a day after visiting the hairdresser. Below are some photos of me styling it after washing. Overall, not too bad, I think.
Today’s outfit features some laced pants that I’ve shown before. I wore them with brown wedges above and my yellow/tan shoes below.
