I’ve been thinking a lot about fashion lately. Is anyone else feeling a bit guilty about spending too much money on clothes? I’ve been wondering if it’s really worth it to spend a considerable amount on beauty and fashion every month. There are so many other things that money could go towards, perhaps even more important things.
I’ve been reading minimalist blogs that emphasize being happy with less, enjoying life, connecting with friends, and not caring so much about material stuff. I completely understand and agree with that perspective. Also, my husband is the complete opposite of me; he doesn’t care about what he wears at all. He hates shopping and only buys clothes when he absolutely has to, when his existing ones are broken or discolored. He often says it’s easier not to worry about clothes and fashion at all. And yes, that does sound like it would be carefree and nice.
But whenever I try to live without indulging in new clothes, not coloring my hair, or not taking care of my skin, I end up feeling restless and unhappy. Even though I understand and agree with the minimalists and my husband, that mindset just doesn’t fit me.
Then, I see websites like Advanced Style, where women look so lively and joyful in their beautiful clothes. I talk to my friends as well, and they always tell me, “At our age, you just need to do what makes you happy.” And fashion makes me happy. I feel fantastic when I look good, and I find joy in seeing others dressed beautifully. I get inspired by people who dare to be different and love seeing someone’s personality reflected through their style.
So, I’ve decided to embrace fashion and style fully and even celebrate it through this blog. Here’s why I think spending time and money on beauty, fashion, and style is justified:
1. It allows you to celebrate life.
2. It helps you celebrate yourself.
3. It gives you a chance to use your creativity.
4. It makes you feel good about yourself.
5. It shows others who you are.
6. It helps you connect with like-minded people.
7. It communicates what you want to achieve.
8. It makes the world a more visually beautiful place.
I might add more reasons to this list as they come to me. What do you think about this?
